The Pennhurst Information Page contains documents and photographs of
the abandoned Pennhurst State School and Hospital, an institution for
the mentally disabled, which was found guilty of patient neglect during
a 1977 class-action lawsuit. Very interesting.

Poorhouse Story
A wonderful historical chronicle of American Poorhouses - county subsidized
homes that paupers were forced to live in with the hope that they could
undergo rehabiliation of their "bad habits" and "character
defects" that caused them to not be able to earn a living in the
first place. Hmmmm... I'm thinking perhaps we should go back to this
scheme...
