One day I just decided to stop and it turned to another day and so on... I've concluded that addiction is mostly a mental aberration. A belief of need based on greed and satisfaction. A post-post-modern societal ill. Mind you that I've also survived cocaine and heroin addiction also, but that was way before meth and I also stopped the same way. I've also lost friends and maybe I shouldn't be here to write these words... I’ve done Meth in the extreme and I’m still alive and sober. I only have one complaint about the ads and that is that not everyone who does meth immediately comes off as a train wreck. This can send kids (and adults alike) the wrong message that they can trust someone as long as they don't look like the people in these ads, and that's a very dangerous assumption. I don't like the normative nature of "Not Even Once," but I do know from watching my friends descend into meth hell how amazingly fast casual meth use turns into a fiendish habit that's near-impossible to break for a lot of people. Meth is a scourge in the gay community. It would be nice to see some effective ads that deal with the habituation in a reasonable and factual manner.
