The Greedy Ugly People

Seems I have a new morbid sightseeing spot to go check out here in Chicagoland ASAP! The greedy ugly people at Burr Oak Cemetery in Alsip actually dug up bodies and dumped them in a pile in a remote corner of the cemetery so that they could resell the plots! Why, oh why, have I never explored this cemetery before now??? By the time I get there, they will probably have the pile all cleaned up or barricaded off. So sad…

Burr Oak Cemetery Nightmare

Oh, and these people should do major time for something this horrific.

What they did reminded me of the Cemeteries in New Orleans and how they would make room for another family member in the same “oven” by removing the previous remains and putting them in a bag in the back of the vault then destroying the coffin. Et voila! Room for more!!
Y’all are also having the American Libraries Association Conference in CHicago. July 9-15. I wish I could go. Lots of morbid history in the Chicago area.

Calm down and look up the phrase “secondary burial”. Relocating bodies after a few years or decades is not nearly as bizarre, horrifying and unheard-of as you seem to think. Just to take everyone’s favorite example, those Capuchin bones did not get up and walk into separate rooms and form morbid sculpture all by themselves.

Are you a retard Louise…? This is not “secondary burial”. This is a criminal offense. They didn’t bury them, they dumped them for money. have to admit though that it’s pretty damn morbid.

The difference being that the bones here were dug up and discarded in a field amid concrete and casket debris rather than being placed in another respectful location such as a catacomb or a cistern.

Despair if you are up to it…go check it out for us and bring us pics….Inquirey minds need to know.

Between that Lamb funeral home in the 1980’s in California and that New Orleans one where they had pics of digging up hundreds of bodies. That were supposed to have been cremated. This too sounds interesting…morbid? Oh yes….I would love to have their natal charts before me.

I never hear of things like this happening here in Ontario. I am sure it does but like so many things we never hear about it.

Hope you are healing well Depair.

Morgana, it was in Georgia where the propieters were just dumping the bodies instead of cremating them.
    Not in New Orleans.
Maybe you’re thinking about the hurricanes where the bodies floated up.

Thank you Magnoire. That was it Georgia.

Sort of on/off topic… my new book is enroute to me “Body Brokers: Inside America’s Underground trade in Humain Remains”.

    I hope it’s good.
