Ghastly: Krokodil Apocalypse

June 22nd, 2011

Michael sent me the following information about desomorphine – a horrifying drug that is sweeping across Russia leaving ghastliness in its wake:

“The drug is called Krokodil (Crocodile) in Russia, where it’s cheap to make and therefore gaining popularity among the 2 million addicts there. The shit is a highly addictive and very nasty toxin that turns the skin scaly and then literally rots the flesh off the bone.”

I will warn you that these videos might possibly be the sickest, most disturbing clips I’ve ever seen – and you know that’s saying something!!! Michael put it quite well himself: “I spent 3 years working in a funeral home and this shit made me gag.”

First, here’s an article about the drug from the U.K. newspaper The Independent:

And finally, a site called Morrison World Media has a link to a 14-minute video in Russian discussing the drug. This video is SICK, SICK, SICK!!!!! Many graphic scenes. The text on the banner reads “Monstrous sores, lesions of internal organs, painful death. Film FSKN ‘Semi-death’ -the impact of drugs on the human body, desomorphine.”

Morrison World Media

What a world, huh?

Ghastly!

Highly recommend reading the Independent article first. Gives some background info and a pretty comprehensive description of how the drug’s made and its effects, and why it’s so hard to kick. That shit is as insidious and vicious a toxin as any ever made. Pure evil.

Seems the Wiki link to the Russian police article is broken.

For once, I’m glad I can’t see. My imagination, however, has no trouble at all filling in the blanks.
And here I thought the “bath salts” craze in the States was vicious.

What astonishes me is how casually the patients expose their wounds. It’s like, hey, here are my forearm bones, take a look.

I liken it to ppl in the US taking “bath tub meth” it eats them alive. Add malnutrition, dirty needles, poor overall living conditions, health care options (sometimes better here; but not always) this reminds me of a nasty staph infection like “flesh eating bacteria” info about that disease should be here at the Asylum, most of us are familiar with that topic! LOL.

You don’t even have to take the bathtub meth to get ravaged by it. They showed on the news not too long ago people stealing nitrate fertilizer from big storage tanks on farms, and they were standing around and the stuff was splattering them all over, right in their faces. By the time they get to that point their brains are half cooked out anyway, so I guess the burns and whatnot don’t have much impact on them.

Whaddaya know? Look what I just found two minutes ago:

Tainted cocaine causes flesh to rot. LOS ANGELES, June 23 (UPI) –. Cocaine laced with a veterinary dewormer is suspected in a rash of outbreaks of a flesh-eating disease in New York and Los Angeles, health officials said. Levamisole, used to deworm cattle, pigs and sheep, is found in 80 percent of the U.S. cocaine supply, ABC News reported Thursday. The drug can rot skin off of noses, ears and cheeks. It’s probably quite a big problem, and we just don’t know yet how big a problem it really is, Dr. Noah Craft, a dermatologist with the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute, told ABC. While six patients in the coastal metropolises have presented with the dark purple patches of dying flesh, Craft warned it’s not just in New York and LA. It’s in the cocaine supply of the entire U.S. The flesh rot is caused by an immune system reaction to the drug, which attacks blood vessels in the skin, causing it to starve and suffocate — but not all users will experience such effects. Studies in rats indicate the drug may act on the same brain receptors as cocaine, explaining why some drug dealers would cut their cocaine with levamisole to stretch their supplies. We don’t know who this is going to happen to, Dr. Lindy Fox, a University of California, San Francisco, dermatologist who first discovered the connection, told ABC, adding one patient’s entire body was consumed by black, dying flesh. The skin does heal when the drug is removed from the system, leaving behind a shiny scar. But when it is active, it has deleterious effects on the immune system, preventing bone marrow from creating white blood cells. It’s a little bit like having HIV, said Craft. About 10 percent of those patients will die from severe infections. They may be walking around like a time bomb. .

I cannot believe what I just saw. I watched the Morrison World Media video. I did read the background of the drug before i watched. I cant even explain what I saw. Those cries coming from this girl. She is naked. Very Thin, the bone explosed on her arm. There is no flesh…nothing. Then they moved to her leg. I have a strong strong stomache, hearing her cry and watching them poke at her just about tossed my cookies. No horror film could ever compete. This film should be viewed by every high school teen in America, complete with vomit bags. How can they keep injecting that stuff? That has to be living hell. Im sure that girl is most likely dead by now. Her teeth were wretched as well.

I can not judge. Im going to pray for these kids today! Its easy to pass judgement but if you were in Russia and poor abused in ways we cant imagine without hope…maybe you would do this too. I just kinda say “But for the grace of God go I”! No matter how hard I try I can get the cries of that poor girl out of my mind. She was once…Im sure, a pretty child. What a waste.
