Run For Your Lives!

August 4th, 2011

So you’ll never believe this, but last Sunday I ran and completed (albeit extremely slowly) the Warrior Dash – a muddy obstacle course run. It was a strange experience to get the Comtesse’s creaking old bones moving again, but one that I found mildly exhilarating. However, Run For Your Lives has something the Warrior Dash doesn’t have: Zombies!!! I not only want to run from the Zombies, I also want to BE a Zombie. This year it’s only occurring in Baltimore but the virus is spreading next year. Perhaps you might want to take part as well?

If fast-zombies are more your speed, you can host your own Run For Your Lives event by shouting “FREE CRACK ROCKS AND METH IF YOU CATCH ME!” within a few blocks of an active Greyhound bus depot.

I have a better location: Daytona Beach, the week before Halloween. The weather is great and I’m sure the tourism dollars would be appreciated! Zombies in the ocean, on the pier, wandering Main Street. We let Bikers invade our space four weeks out of the year, so why not Zombie Week! I’m getting way too excited… On that note, go find a copy of “Something To Tide You Over” Stephen King. It can be found in Cat’s Eye. If I recall correctly, Steve Martin is the bad guy in the movie. Amusing.

I’m not sure if you aren’t already aware of this, but it is in our area. (“our area” being between Peoria and Lake Michigan) http://zombiefit.org/
